Master of Arts (M.A. Dual Major)
Course description
The Intercultural Communication and Education course is an interdisciplinary course with a focus on both the educational sciences and social sciences.
It can be combined with the other master’s subjects in the Faculty of Human Sciences and Faculty of Arts and Humanities as part of a dual-subject master’s model.
The subject matter deals with the social transformations that arise due to mobility, migration, globalisation and individualisation and their impact on education and training processes.
The contents of the degree programme provide students with an academic insight into processes that are becoming increasingly diverse from a socio-economic and political/cultural perspective and into the impact of the associated polarisation as a result of social communication and individual and state education in societies that are trying to withstand the pressures of globalisation. This opens up fields of application in intercultural communication and international cooperation (such as mediation and consultation) or in linguistic education in the context of bilingualism or multilingualism.
