Course description

The master’s subject in Adult Education/Further Education can be combined with the other master’s subjects in the Faculty of Human Sciences and Faculty of Arts and Humanities as part of a dual-subject master’s model. Adult Education/Further Education is a subdiscipline of the educational sciences that focuses on lifelong learning and education processes for adults. Building on a bachelor’s degree in educational sciences, the master’s programme in Adult Education/Further Education leads to a further professional degree of a distinctive high standard that will enable students to pursue professional educational activities in both facilities and research dealing with further education.

Graduates of the degree in Adult Education/Further Education are able to analyse social, institutional and personal educational needs and address them with targeted learning opportunities and processes suitable for the recipient. The degree provides students with the professional skills necessary to plan, organise, evaluate and support educational processes for adults. The skills they develop for carrying out their own research work and for critically and constructively evaluating empirical findings will also enable them to implement independent academic projects and continuously keep track of innovative developments in international theoretical discourse and practical areas of further education.
