M. Sc. Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie
Psychology as a science aims to describe, explain, predict and, where possible, change human experiences, behaviour and actions. Scientific psychology thus forms the basis for a variety of professions; this master’s degree in psychology with a specialism in clinical psychology and psychotherapy at the University of Cologne deepens the scientific and practical qualifications acquired with the first professional degree (Bachelor of Psychology) in psychology by enhancing application skills. The aim is to teach students all of the skills required to develop therapeutic expertise while taking into account patient safety and patient rights in order to obtain authorisation to provide therapy after taking an additional examination for the licence to practice (in accordance with section 2(1)(1) of the psychotherapist law).
Besonderheiten
Der Studiengang M. Sc. Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie (KPPT) der Universität zu Köln wurde mit Bescheid vom 05.03.2025 durch das Ministerium fur Arbeit, Gesundheit und Soziales des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen berufsrechtlich anerkannt.und entspricht somit den Anforderungen der Approbationsordnung für Psychotherapeutinnen und Psychotherapeuten vom 4. März 2020
Die berufspraktische Ausbildung im Umfang von 600 Std. (Berufsqualifizierende Tätigkeit III) erfolgt vollständig an der Universität zu Köln in Kooperation mit den Hochschul-Ambulanzen der HF sowie der Uniklinik Köln und ist fest im Studienverlauf verankert. Dies erhöht die Planbakeit des Studiums und sichert die Qualität der praktischen Ausbildung:

Praktika im M.Sc. Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie (KPPT)
Wenn Sie im Master Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie gemäß der neuen Approbationsordnung für Psychotherapeutinnen und Psychotherapeuten (PsychThApprO) vom 4. März 2020 studieren, müssen Sie im Rahmen des Ergänzungsmoduls 1: Berufsqualifizierende Tätigkeit III folgende Praktikumsleistungen erbringen:
- Praktikum 1: Ambulante Psychotherapie (150 Stunden) inkl. Dokumentationsleistungen
- Praktikum 2: Stationäre Psychotherapie (450 Stunden) inkl. Dokumentationsleistungen
- Praktikumsseminar: Selbstreflexion

Im Anschluss an Ihr abgeschlossenes Masterstudium Psychologie mit Schwerpunkt Klinische Psychologie und Psychotherapie haben Sie die Möglichkeit, die staatliche Prüfung zur Psychotherapeutin oder zum Psychotherapeuten nach der Approbationsordnung für Psychotherapeut*innen abzulegen.
